    How To Get (& Stay) MOTIVATED

    February 16th, 2012

    Today I had someone tell me that they weren’t “feeling motivated” and asked for my advice. Here it is: Motivation doesn’t happen by accident; it must be created daily.  And it is YOUR responsibility to create it. Are you doing the things DAILY that create motivation? Such as nourishing your mind/body/spirit everyday with practices like reading (personal development books), exercising, reviewing your written goals, spending time in silence, etc? Motivation is available to all of us, but YOU must create it daily.
    ==================================================
    What if you do those things and still don’t feel motivated?
    ==================================================
    Now it’s a matter of “acting your way into feeling” or “moving your way into motivation” – meaning you have to do the thing you want motivation for, and it’s once you’re engaged in the activity that you create the motivation you need to follow through. For example, “thinking” about making phone calls is usually demotivating. It’s only once you’re on the phone making the calls that you FEEL motivated to keep making calls! Self-discipline (not motivation) is what’s required to get started, then motivation will help keep you going.

    Is Rear View Mirror Syndrome Limiting Your Potential?

    February 3rd, 2012

    “Begin to live out of the glory of your imagination, not your memory.”
    ~Robin Sharma

    One of the most crippling conditions in life, which we all suffer from, is RVMS—Rear View Mirror Syndrome. We go through our lives, our subconscious minds equipped with a rear view mirror, through which we continuously relive and recreate our past. We mistakenly believe that who we were is who we are, thus limiting our true potential in the present, based on the limitations of our past.

    Statistics show that on any given day, the average person thinks somewhere between 50,000 and 60,000 thoughts. The problem is that ninety-five percent of our thoughts are the same as the ones we thought the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that, and so on. It’s no wonder most people go through life, day after day, month after month, and year after year, and the quality of their lives pretty much stays the same.

    October 8th, 2011

    Hal Elrod’s Top 10 Inspirational & Empowering Quotes

    October 7th, 2011

    *These are Hal Elrod’s Top 10 quotes, as voted on by The Miracle Morning® community.

    1. “Love the life you have while you create the life of your dreams. Don’t think you have to choose one over the other.”
    2. “Give up being perfect for being authentic.”
    3. “You are where you are because of who you were, but where you go depends entirely on who you choose to be.”
    4. “Why is it that when a baby is born we often refer to him or her as ‘the miracle of life’ but then we go on to accept mediocrity for our own lives. When did we lose sight of the Miracle that WE are living?”
    5. “Strive to make everyday the best day of your life, because there is no good reason not to.”
    6. “The moment you accept responsibility for EVERYTHING in your life is the moment you can change ANYTHING in your life.”
    7. “Every goal we have is preceded by a process. The secret to success is to be committed to the daily process, without being emotionally attached to your results.  You should absolutely be emotionally engaged in your goals, but not emotionally attached.  What’s the difference?  When you are emotionally engaged, you create excitement & enthusiasm for the possibility of achieving your goals, but when you are emotionally attached you create fear & pain that you might not.”
    8. “If you want more energy, put yourself in situations where energy is required. Your body will naturally response and always produce the energy you need, but not if you’re just sitting around complaining about not having enough energy.”
    9. “Those who only do what they feel like… don’t do much. To be successful at anything you must take action even when you don’t feel like it, knowing that the action itself will produce the motivation you need to follow through.”
    10. “You are always exactly where you are supposed to be, experiencing what you need to experience, to learn what you must learn, in order to become the person you need to be to create the life you truly want.  Always.”

    The Untold Truth About What Causes All of Our Emotional Pain… (And What YOU Can Do About It!)

    September 24th, 2011

    All of our emotional pain—fear, anger, sadness, regret—is a result of our non-acceptance – a.k.a. our “resistance” – of the things we can’t change. For example, fear is caused by our non-acceptance of a possible outcome in the future. Regret is caused by our non-acceptance of things we can’t change from the past. In fact, most of our emotional pain is caused by our non-acceptance of our past.

    We lost something. A job. A relationship. A loved one. Or someone did something that hurt us—maybe it was a family member, a friend, an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend—and we harbor negative emotions toward that person, or towards our circumstances, thus causing ourselves pain so long as we are not willing to accept it and let it go.
