I Never Actually Thought This Dream Would Come True… (My 1st rap song on iTunes TODAY)

    March 19th, 2013

I think it started in 5th grade when my cousin took me to a New Kids On the Block concert and I heard Donnie Wahlberg’s rap on the song “Hangin’ Tough.”

Or maybe it was in 6th grade when Vanilla Ice had the #1 song with “Ice Ice Baby” and I loved it! (It’s actually still one of my favorite songs – please don’t judge…)

Through junior high and high school I scribbled down raps in my notebook daily, about everything from getting my first car to my shenanigans in Algebra class. In fact, I even recorded the following rap on my answering machine, at age 15:

    Although actions make speaker louder

I am a recovering judge-aholic. Yes, it’s true. I used to spend far too much of my time and mental energy judging others, coming from the perspective of their way of thinking, believing, or behaving is “wrong” because it is different than how I think, believe, or behave.

Secrets of Self-Discipline: How To Get Yourself To Do What You Need To Do (Especially When You Don’t Feel Like Doing It)

    January 19th, 2013

Self Discipline is the ability to get yourself to take action—to do what you need to do—regardless of your physical, mental, or emotional state.

Everything you want in your life—everything you want to have, be, and do depends on your ability to get yourself to take the necessary actions to achieve your goals, whether you feel like it or not, which is why the developing extraordinary self-discipline is arguably the #1 most important commitment you can make to yourself, right now.

[Quote] Those Who Do What They Feel Like

That is why, as Iwas designing the curriculum for my brand new V.I.P. Mastermind Coaching program, it didn’t take me more than a minute to decide that Module #1 would be the topic (and title) of this blog post.

How To Get (& Stay) MOTIVATED

    February 16th, 2012

Today I had someone tell me that they weren’t “feeling motivated” and asked for my advice. Here it is: Motivation doesn’t happen by accident; it must be created daily.  And it is YOUR responsibility to create it. Are you doing the things DAILY that create motivation? Such as nourishing your mind/body/spirit everyday with practices like reading (personal development books), exercising, reviewing your written goals, spending time in silence, etc? Motivation is available to all of us, but YOU must create it daily.

What if you do those things and still don’t feel motivated?

The Untold Truth About What Causes All of Our Emotional Pain… (And What YOU Can Do About It!)

    September 24th, 2011

All of our emotional pain—fear, anger, sadness, regret—is a result of our non-acceptance – a.k.a. our “resistance” – of the things we can’t change. For example, fear is caused by our non-acceptance of a possible outcome in the future. Regret is caused by our non-acceptance of things we can’t change from the past. In fact, most of our emotional pain is caused by our non-acceptance of our past.

We lost something. A job. A relationship. A loved one. Or someone did something that hurt us—maybe it was a family member, a friend, an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend—and we harbor negative emotions toward that person, or towards our circumstances, thus causing ourselves pain so long as we are not willing to accept it and let it go.
